RAMEN YA REVIEWS
Stopped by the ramen restaurant by chance. The soup is strong enough and the noodles were cooked well. We’re from Taiwan and have tried quite a lot Ramen in Asia, I would say this ramen is local, good and recommended. Also the price is reasonable in Europe :)
My ramen was missing the egg that was in the description and photo...(one of my favorite ramen toppings), but with language barriers, I didn't ask if I translated wrong. However, the broth was so rich and full of flavor I did not miss it...just the broth alone made me happy. For the record, The staff, a young woman and a gentleman were both very nice and I am sure they would have corrected the missing egg if I really felt it was needed. The atmosphere was like being in a Tokyo ramen shop...perhaps with fewer "rules" lol. Very happy.
Great ramen, great service! Loved everything about this place. Service was fast and efficient :) thank you! Watch out for the spicy, level 1 for me was enough.

Izakaya Joyi is an incredible Japanese restaurant that presents sushi, maki, and tempura in a tapas-style manner, complemented by an extensive sake menu, all within a chic and minimalist setting. The journey commenced in 2010 when Anthony Nguyen and his wife Morgane inaugurated their initial restaurant, Joyi, in the Viarme area of Nantes. Later, in 2015, they relocated to the Cité des Congrès district, marking the transformation of Joyi into Izakaya Joyi.
Chef Anthony Nguyen, the mastermind behind the recipes, achieved acclaim in 2015 by clinching the title of the best sushi chef in France, securing the top spot in the Global Sushi Challenge competition. Representing France in the grand world final in Tokyo, he showcased his expertise in this traditional culinary art, as the competition, organized by the World Sushi Skills Institute, aimed to spotlight sushi craftsmanship worldwide. In his Japanese bistro, the chef offers authentic dishes that seamlessly blend skill and top-notch ingredients. The team places paramount importance on daily product selection, with a focus on local and labeled items. Carefully chosen fish from Criée du Croisic and/or La Turballe add to the authenticity, ensuring a menu that evolves with the changing seasons.

IZAKAYA JOYI REVIEWS
Excellent Japanese cuisine. The quality of the food and the service is impeccable. The sale is top notch. For a couple, I highly recommend the sukiyaki (but you have to reserve 24h in advance) for an unforgettable experience.
Loved it! Had a formula menu with amazing maki and tempura ice cream! Service in lovely and restaurant looks amazing. A bit of Japan in France :)
Delicious Scottish salmon in a pretty donburi bowl. Great service and tranquille terrace, definitely recommend.

PAKU PAKU REVIEWS
Wonderful and immersive place that immerses our senses in the Japanese universe, with a very pleasant welcome and a server with a communicative good humor. You can eat at a table, at a bar, or on tatami mats for the more adventurous! The food is excellent, the dishes are served very generously, and the fried food (which I generally find too oily) is very light: paku paku it's worth it!
Surely one of the best restaurants you can find in Nantes if you are looking for non French food. We went here for lunch and had a great time. Every item we ordered, from the miso soup to ice cream filled mochis, was full of flavour and stayed true to the original Japanese dishes. Considering that a 3 course menu for lunch is currently priced below 20 euros, this was great value too.
Top! Takoyaki is delicious (which is hard to find in Nantes). Katsu is excellent, crunchy and tender as expected. The portion is quite big, too much rice for me. Should make a reservation in advance.
