“La tour Eiffel is locally nicknamed as "La dame de fer". The tower is a wrought-iron lattice structure located on the Champ de Mars. Stephen Sauvestre, Maurice Koechlin, and Émile Nouguier are the architects of the Tower. Maurice Koechlin and Émile Nouguier were the tower's structural engineers. La tour Eiffel is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. The tower is the tallest in Paris at 324 metres, and its square base measures 125 metres on each side. La tour Eiffel features three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second levels. The top-level platform is 276 metres above the ground, making it the highest observation deck accessible to the public. Visitors can purchase tickets to ascend by stairs or lift, either alone or with friends or family.”
